Reducing turnaround cycles to go to market

I guess GOTO MARKET is the Buzz word. How do you get there?

I think concepts are only as good has having it out there ahead of time in a very cost effective manner. This is where it becomes important to choose the right partner or vendor to outsource. You need to see if the vendor has the expertise on the domain in question, some level of reusable components understanding of the process..etc

I am obviously referring to Health Care in this particular context; the domain is so inter-connected that each aspect of the system is related to the other. This is exactly what I mean by Value added partners rather than just the cost cutting formula.

So fast turn around at the end of the day will depend on the competence of your development partner's ability to appreciate the need to "GOTO MARKET", of course competence in the domain in question and their willingness to experiment on technology.

The New Age of Outsourcing

Outsourcing needs should always be measured such that there is value to both sides.

It should compliment rather than a rush to save costs. These tend to have their own backlashes with short term benfits.

Well it is easier said than done. What is a good value proposition?

A good value proposition will be to extend your business domain or rather diversify to ensure that outsourcing creates new business rather than cutting down current business to move offshore completely, this keeps good balance of your current competent and loyal staff as their support to make your outsourcing excersise becomes very important and a critical factor.

An intellectual conversation with true intent can go a long way to ensure a win win step forward towards outsourcing.

Want to save costs and add Value ?

Who does not like saving costs, the question really is if it adds value or does it adversly affect your quality?
The answer to this question really depends on your due delligence. It is extremely difficult to make these decisions.
The Best practices to Outsource and value to your Business is through
  1. Identify non critical functions of your Business.
  2. Shortlist the vendors you want to work with.
  3. Distribute the project across the multiple vendors.
  4. Have good contractual agreements up front.
  5. In round two come down to the best vendor you find satisfactor or comfortable with.
  6. You might want to partner with the vendor to ensure both your best intrests are taken care of. "After all How much your earn depends on how much you are willing to Give".

Each of the points above are subjects by themselves, we will try and discuss each of them one at a time to see how you could reduce your risks, cost and improve quality in a very short time.

P.S: Please feel to add to the above list.

HealthCare Outsourcing

HealthCare OutSourcing is an ever evolving market, regulations change frequently, processes change. Hence keeping in pace with this scenario is getting a lot more intresting and at the same time challenging.

With an ever growing push from the federal side to reduce Health Care costs and mandates on products like EMR for doctors office is eventually going to reduce outsourcing work in the long run. Hence it is important for HealthCare companies to constantly re-orient thier offerings and raise up the value chain to ensure their bottomline is not lost.

E-Priscription and its Challenges

With the concept of E-prescription gaining a lot of interest among the providers and the vendor community I guess its time to look back and take a look at its feasibility.

The initial industry reaction has been that of a restrain, as there are lots of challenges that technology companies need to address these challenges to provide confidence to the providers about e-prescription.

With the manual e-prescriptions handed over to the patient, it makes it rather convenient for the providers to entrust the responsibility to the patient, while e-prescriptions require the provider’s office to fax or electronically send prescriptions to the pharmacies, the responsibility shifts to the provider’s office to evaluate the right technology and approach to ensure reliable e-prescription solution.

Some of the problems and issues with e-prescriptions tend to do with pharmacies not receiving prescriptions or having received but not being aware of it…etc

Hence technology providers need to address this key issue of acknowledgement from the pharmacy on recipient of e-prescription acknowledging each drug that was prescribed, it dosage and availability.

It will help if there could be some initiative like HIPAA transactions (EDI standards) to come up with specifications that enable all pharmacies and vendors to integrate these capabilities.

HIPAA and Healthcare

HIPAA- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Is a set of standard guidelines for Health Care providers to adapt to, requires providers to support standard services or transactions electronically to eventually reduce errors and costs.

Apart from services HIPAA is also a security act to provide the interests of the patients and their diagnosis information. Practices and groups need to sign the HIPAA contracts with vendors in question to ensure that this security law is enforced through the chain.

Some of the services or transactions that would generally be of interest to technology companies in particular the software development companies include patient plan eligibility verification, authorization tracking and management, claim submission, claim remittance and few other transactions. Best Patient Care: How to Imporve patient care?

Best Patient Care: How to Imporve patient care?

How to Imporve patient care?

Like it is always said "Charity begins at home", quality care can be best assured through good electronic documentation at the doctors office, this does not necessarily mean a Electronic Medical Record system but can take simple baby steps as simple as using microsoft office package to optimize your workflow or simple authorization tracking systems to ensure that patient authorizations are managed in time ..etc
